Are you a dynamic leader with a passion for safety, health, environment and training in the resources sector? We are seeking an experienced and driven SHET Superintendent to join our clients talented team and help them maintain the highest standards of safety and environmental stewardship at an impressive mining operation in Central Queensland.

 

About the role:

  • Oversee the implementation and compliance of SHET policies and procedures to ensure a safe and healthy working environment.
  • Lead and manage the SHET team, providing guidance and ensuring effective training, development, and performance.
  • Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership and operational teams to develop and promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
  • Drive compliance of the SHMS, regulatory requirements and industry standards for safety, health, environment, and training.

 

About you:

  • Proven experience in a similar SHET leadership role within the mining sector, ideally in open cut coal.
  • Strong knowledge of safety, health, and environmental regulations relevant to coal mining.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyse data, conduct risk assessments, and develop actionable plans.
  • A proactive, solution-oriented approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
  • Relevant qualifications in Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field
