Manager – Investment Management

Our client is a globally diversified trading and services business covering a range of commodities and investments. With a range of exposure to commodities and projects this organisation is well regarded within the mining space with a number of impressive projects.

About the role:

Working with the team in the Brisbane Corporate office and collectively with the broader international group, your focus will see you play a vital role in the finance department, driving the business to achieve strategic commercial and operational objectives. You will have a main focus on one of their key joint venture partnerships supporting the site with critical analysis and recommendations.

About you:

You will have proven results at a managerial level and be passionate about best practice through identifying opportunities to improve process and implement effective commercial strategies, systems and processes. You will have the ability to promote a close-knit team culture, have a passion for numbers and people, highly effective communication, strong attention to detail coupled with excellent time management skills, accurate reporting capabilities and proven stakeholder engagement. These skills will enable you to be operationally involved at a site/ project level coupled with being able to integrate and add value at the executive level.

You will provide expertise, guidance and direction to department managers relating to business growth strategies, budgets and forecasts, cash management and cost control. You will also provide valuable advice in relation to annual budgets, associated financial reporting and forecasting. A hands-on manager with appropriate degree qualifications and accreditations withing the accounting and finance sector is required.

Key skills and experience:

• Strong financial and commercial acumen with understanding of JV’s

• Analyse, review and provide commentary on projects and funding
• Provide advice on strategies for improving funding and expense management
• Understand and interpret JV agreements
• Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Strong work ethic and ability to communicate and negotiate across all levels
• Contract management and tender experience
